Hi! I'm Tiia, an essayist, critic, and editor based in Naarm. I write about film, popular culture, and digital ephemera. My work can be found in The Guardian, Overland, Meanjin Quarterly, The Big Issue, Senses of Cinema, Kill Your Darlings, and elsewhere.
I currently edit nonfiction for Voiceworks and can regularly be heard reviewing films for ABC Radio Melbourne's Victorian Evenings.
In 2022, I was selected as a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow to work on a manuscript of pop culture essays. In 2021, I was shortlisted and highly commended for the Deakin University Nonfiction Prize. I've participated in the Critics Lab for the Melbourne Women in Film Festival (MWFF) and the Critics Campus for the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).
I've performed my work at The Emerging Writers Festival, Freeplay Festival, magazine launches, and as part of the Wheeler Centre's 'Next Big Thing' series.
